Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition to Get Framerate Improvements in Upcoming Update

Released last year, the game includes the PlayStation 1 sequel to Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, along with the previously Japan-exclusive Satellaview title Radical Dreamers. This latest update is the first major patch since the game's launch day patch.

According to Square Enix, the update will include significant improvements to the game's performance, with "framerate improvements" being the most notable addition. This is great news for players who experienced performance issues, as the game reportedly struggled to maintain a steady frame rate in both overworld areas and battles.

In addition to the framerate improvements, the update will also feature changes to the growth system for Pip, a small creature that players can recruit by saving him in Viper Manor in Another World and encountering him again on the S.S. Invincible. Pip 'evolves' throughout the game depending on the elements that players use with him in battle.

The complete patch notes for the upcoming update are yet to be released, but we will keep you informed as soon as they become available. If you've played Chrono Cross on Switch, you'll be excited to hear that this update promises to make the experience even better. And if you haven't played it yet, now is a great time to jump in and experience the game's timeless story with improved performance.
